Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. The winner will advance to face the Portland Timbers in the Western Conference Semifinals.
Dempsey scored his first goal for Sounders FC in the 30th minute. Lamar Neagle's cross from the right flank got deflected in the box and fell to Dempsey at the back post, who flicked the ball with the outside of his right foot for the game's opening goal.
Neagle recorded his career-high fourth assist, matching Eddie Johnson and Obafemi Martins for the club lead with 20 points this season.
Robbie Keane netted the equalizer in the 78th minute when he fired a volley from 15 yards out that bounced through the defense and inside the far post.
Tonight's attendance at CenturyLink Field was 66,216, helping Seattle set the MLS attendance record for the fifth consecutive season with an average of 44,038.
Seattle pressured the goal throughout the first half, including two dangerous chances from Adam Moffat, who led the team with three shots.
In the third minute, Eddie Johnson's flick-header rolled to Moffat in stride for a first-time shot that was saved by Jaime Penedo. In the 13th minute, Moffat's header after a corner kick was saved and his rebound attempt went wide into the side-netting.
