Real Salt Lake News Release

Real Salt Lake learned on Sunday that it will face LA Galaxy in the Western Conference Semifinals.

The second-seeded Claret-and-Cobalt will take on the third-seeded Galaxy in the first leg of the West Semis at 7:00 p.m. MT on Sunday at StubHub Center. Sunday's match will be broadcast live on ESPN. RSL will host LA at Rio Tinto Stadium in the series' decisive second leg. The date, start time and broadcast information for the second leg have yet to be determined.

Tickets to the second leg of the Western Conference Semifinal are now on sale to the general public and 2013/14 RSL PRIDE Season Ticket Holders. Fans can purchase tickets at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office, over the phone at 801-727-2700 and online at www.RealSaltLake.com/Tickets.

Real Salt Lake was 1-2-0 against LA in the 2013 regular season. LA took the first match between the sides, scoring two early goals to beat RSL 2-0 at Rio Tinto Stadium on April 27. The Claret-and-Cobalt took a measure of revenge in the second meeting, downing the Galaxy 3-1 at Rio Tinto Stadium on June 8. RSL dropped the final meeting between the sides, falling victim to a hat trick from Galaxy FW Robbie Keane to lose 4-2 at LA on Aug. 17.

This series will mark the third playoff meeting between Real Salt Lake and LA. RSL and LA have split their previous two playoff matchups, with the Claret-and-Cobalt beating the Galaxy in penalties to take home MLS Cup 2009 and LA downing an injury-plagued RSL side 3-1 in the 2011 Western Conference Final.

The first-seeded Portland Timbers will take on the winner of Wednesday's Western Conference Knockout Game between Seattle Sounders FC and Colorado Rapids in the other Western Conference Semifinal. The winner of the RSL-LA series will take on the winner of that series in the two-legged Western Conference Final, which will be played later this month.

Real Salt Lake will train at 11:00 a.m. MT Tuesday and Wednesday at America First Field in Sandy, Utah. Both training sessions will be open to the media and the entire Claret-and-Cobalt roster will be available for interviews following each training session. Please be aware that RSL Head Coach Jason Kreis will not be available to media after training on those days. The Real Salt Lake schedule through Sunday's Western Conference Semifinal first leg will be released later this week.
