NEW YORK (Monday, October 28, 2013) - Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Camilo Sanvezzo was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for week 35 of the 2013 MLS season.

Camilo scored a hat trick in Vancouver's 3-0 win over the Colorado Rapids on Sunday, and in doing so, secured the 2013 Budweiser Golden Boot - awarded to the player in MLS with the most goals in the regular season.

The Brazilian opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, when he converted a penalty kick after Kekuta Manneh was brought down in the box.

In the 74th minute, Camilo nutmegged defender Drew Moor and then tucked the ball past Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin to give the Whitecaps a 2-0 lead.

Camilo completed his first career MLS hat trick in the 84th minute, when Russell Teibert chipped a ball over the defense to Camilo who one-touched the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.

This was Camilo's league-leading fourth Player of the Week honor this year. Vancouver Whitecaps FC closed out the 2013 MLS regular season with a 13-12-9 record.

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at http://www.soccerreporters.com/.
