
Demand Pushes Calgary Hitmen To Open Fan Zone For Sunday's Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club announced today they have opened the ultimate fan zone for Sunday's Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss.
This is the first time in franchise history the Hitmen have opened the complete third level for a game at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
"We have made available another 2,600 seats at a ticket price of $7.50, said Hitmen Director of Business Operations Kip Reghenas. "This also gives us a chance to set a new WHL attendance record."
Capacity at the Pengrowth Saddledome for Sunday is 19,289. The current WHL record for largest regular season crowd is 19,103 set by the Portland Winter Hawks in 1997.
The December 2nd game against the Prince George Cougars will be the 13th annual Teddy Bear Toss with fans asked to toss a stuffed toy on the ice when the Hitmen score their first goal.
Game time is 2:00 p.m. at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
Doors open at 1:00 p.m. with fans encouraged to allow extra time for parking.
The Hitmen currently hold the Canadian Hockey League record for most stuffed toys tossed on the ice at 15,540. The mark was set during last year's Teddy Bear Toss.
Bears collected at Sunday's Hitmen game will be distributed among several local charities including; Toy Mountain, Book Bags for Kids and the Salvation Army. The Hitmen will also take Teddy Bear's to the Alberta Children's Hospital on Monday morning.
