PREVIEW: With 18 games remaining in the first half of the season, the Shorebirds embark on a week-long road trip to Greensboro, NC and Charleston, WV. Despite the fact that the 'Birds were just in Greensboro last week, they return to play the hottest team in the South Atlantic League over the next three nights. The Grasshoppers are the Class A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Greensboro began the season 13-24 and made several changes to it's roster. Since that time, they are 13-3. The Shorebirds have also made headway in the Northern Division. After yesterday's double-header sweep of Hickory, Delmarva is in second place for the first time since April 12th.Since opening the season with a 4-6 mark and losing two of the first three series on the campaign, the Shorebirds have a series record of 8-2-2 over their last 12 sets, going 26-15 over that stretch.

TONIGHT'S OPPONENT: Right-hander Chuck Weaver gets the call from manager Kevin Randel. Weaver makes his 11th appearance and his eighth start of the season. He has not appeared against Delmarva in the first 10 meetings of the season. Since giving up four runs against Lexington on May 9th, Weaver has surrendered just one earned run in each of last three starts (spanning 14 innings) with one walk and eight punch outs during that time. He spent three seasons pitching Independent Professional Baseball for the Florence Freedom in the Frontier League before the Marlins signed him last year at 24 years old. This is his first season with Greensboro.

LAST GAME QUICK HITS: Delmarva stunned Hickory in back-to-back affairs yesterday, allowing a single, unearned run over the two contests. The Shorebirds got a big day from Drew Turbin, who went 3-4 between the two games with a double, homer and 4 RBI. Reid Love lowered his ERA to 2.87 and Cristian Alvarado brought his down to 4.13, as both starters took winning decisions.
