Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets came home to start a new 6-game homestand, putting their 5-game winning streak on the line against the visiting West Virginia Power Thursday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

Michael Connolly, winner of his last two starts, took the mound for the GreenJackets. He would surrender the early runs to West Virginia but Augusta came right back in the bottom second, Kelvin Beltre scoring off a Jean Angomas hit.

The score stayed 2-1 until the 6th when the Power added one off a Daniel Arribas double, and then added the final tally in the 8th inning when Carlos Munoz scored Logan Ratledge on a sac fly to right field. The final score was 4-1. Though the GreenJackets winning streak ended, they did receive good news early in the day, as Dylan Davis returned to the lineup following a brief stint on the disabled list. He went 1-4 in his return. Connolly falls to 2-2, (3.21) on the season.

The GreenJackets return back to action Friday evening against the West Virginia Power. It's Ladies Night featuring prizes and specials for ladies all night! First pitch is 7:05pm and gates will open to fans starting at 6:00pm. It's also Shepeard Community Blood Center Night and Most Improved Student Night.

The projected pitching matchup is Gage Hinsz (0-0, 0.00) versus Michael Santos (4-2, 3.02 ERA).
