
Defenseman Kroll Recalled To AHL; Stingrays Sign Holladay

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach Cail MacLean announced today that defenseman Johann Kroll has been called up to the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL. The Stingrays also announced that they have signed defenseman Jay Holladay. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Kroll, 25, currently has two goals and 12 assists in 32 games with the Stingrays. Earlier this season, the Plymouth, MN native skated in 12 games with the Manchester Monarchs contributing one assist. A 2009 ECHL All-Star, Kroll also appeared in two games with the Grand Rapids Griffins registering no points and two penalty minutes.
Holladay, 24, joins the Stingrays after skating in 28 games with the Laredo Bucks of the CHL scoring two goals and three assists. The Virginia Beach, VA native began the season with the Quad City Mallards of the IHL appearing in five games and registering no points. Holladay, currently in his third professional season, appeared in 58 games as a rookie with the New Mexico Scorpions netting five points (1g, 4a). Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-0, 200-pound defenseman attended American International College scoring three assists in 20 games.
The Stingrays welcome the Florida Everblades for a three-in-three home weekend starting on Friday, March 12 at 7:05 p.m. at North Charleston Coliseum. The jerseys will be auctioned off LIVE at the end of the game.
