
Defenseman Joe Lavin Recalled to Providence

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that defenseman Joe Lavin has been recalled to the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins.
Acquired by the Bruins in a trade with the Springfield Falcons (AHL) earlier this season, Lavin, 24, dressed in three games with the Stingrays adding one assist. In 24 games with the Falcons' ECHL affiliate, the Evansville IceMen, the Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, native netted three goals and seven assists for 10 points. A fifth-round draft pick (126 overall) of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Lavin spent the last two seasons in the AHL with Chicago's partnership in the Rockford IceHogs, adding 27 points (four goals, 23 assists) in 112 contests.
