Scouting Report
Fort Wayne
The Gems have played the Komets three times since Dec. 18. Dayton currently holds a 2-1 advantage over Fort Wayne in those games. A key component for the Gems will be silencing the sticks of Leo Thomas and Kaleigh Schrock. The duo has scored four of the Komets' seven goals in the last three games.
Evansville
The IceMen have hit a rough patch, dropping seven of their last eight games. Evansville scored two goals or less in six of those losses. A bright spot for Evansville is prior to the current skid the IceMen are on, Evansville claimed a 3-2 win over the Gems back on Dec. 3.
The IceMen are 1-7-0 since the Dec. 3 matchup while the Gems are 4-4-0.
Bloomington
The game against Bloomington on Thursday is especially important for the Gems. Bloomington is currently one spot ahead of the Gems in the Turner Conference standings. Dayton is in fifth while Bloomington stands in fourth.
Statistically, Bloomington is the toughest team the Gems will face this week. The Prairie Thunder have a 15-8-1 record and have held their opponents to just one goal in each of the past two games.
