
Brown, Mallards Silence PrairieThunder 4-0

MOLINE, Ill. - David Brown made 36 saves on the way to his first career shutout and four different Quad City Mallards scored as the host Mallards blanked the Bloomington PrairieThunder 4-0 Monday night.
Jason Kostadine swept the first goal of the evening into an open net at 1:43 of the second period. Paul Kelly stripped Bloomington defenseman Jamie Lovell in front of the PrairieThunder net and buried the second Quad City goal at 17:35 of the second.
The Mallards were on the power play when Eric Giosa's tip-in stretched the lead to 3-0 at 2:18 of the third period. Zac Pearson (who also picked up an assist) finished off the PrairieThunder by scoring an empty net goal with 2:13 remaining in the contest.
Brown was at his busiest while turning aside 16 Bloomington shots in the second period.
The Mallards return to action at home Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Wichita Thunder. The first 1,000 fans ages 18-and-over through the doors for that game will receive free Mallards winter beanies courtesy of Fox 18.

On Sundays on which the Mallards play at home the ticket office will be open from 1:00 p.m. until the end of the first period.
