Davies Named Pitcher of the Week

BOWIE, Md. - Baysox right-handed starting pitcher Zach Davies has been named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, June 22. Davies is the second Baysox pitcher to win the award this season as Tyler Wilson also won the honor in April.

This past week, Davies went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and seven strikeouts over 13.0 innings and two starts. He surrendered only three hits in the pair of shutout victories. Overall this season, Davies is 3-4 with a 4.24 ERA and 39 strikeouts over 40.1 innings of work. The Orioles #11 prospect, according to Baseball America, spent a month on the Disabled List in May with shoulder tendonitis.
