Dash to Award $10,000 to Lucky Fan on Friday

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (SEPTEMBER 1, 2011) - The Winston-Salem Dash, in conjunction with Hauser Rental, Hanesbrands, and Firehouse Subs, will be awarding a $10,000 grand prize to the winner of the inaugural "Dash Stakes" contest during the Dash's game on Friday night at BB&T Ballpark.

Winston-Salem native Mollie Southard, a 19-year-old sophomore at UNC-Charlotte, was selected from more than 1,500 entries as the Dash Stakes winner. Dash president Geoff Lassiter will present her with a check for $10,000 after the end of the second inning on Friday night. Southard will be joined by her family during the presentation, which coincides with the final regular season game at BB&T Ballpark in 2011.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to award Mollie the $10,000 grand prize," Lassiter said. "There aren't too many places giving away that kind of money these days and we are excited that our winner is from right here in Winston-Salem."

Fans had the opportunity to enter into the Dash Stakes promotion at participating Hauser Rental, Hanesbrands, and Firehouse Subs locations between June 1 and July 30. Four runner-up prizewinners will receive four tickets to a Dash game and a special Dash prize package.
