Keys Suffer Another Setback

The Keys absorbed a third consecutive one-run defeat on Thursday evening as Indians 3B Adam Abraham hit a walk-off solo home run to right-center field in the 10th inning in a Keys 3-2 defeat. Frederick has only scored three runs in the three-game series to date.

With the loss Potomac has climbed within a half game of Frederick in the second half standings. The Keys have dropped five of its last six games.

The Keys grabbed its first lead of the series in the fourth inning. SS Manny Machado walked and then stole second base. He scored on a two-out RBI-single by 1B Mike Flacco. The Keys were off to the races as Flacco stole second base and scored on CF Miguel Abreu's RBI-single to give the Keys a 2-0 lead.

Kinston would quickly rally scoring two runs on three hits in the fourth inning.

In the seventh inning, Abreu was caught in the mix of it again. Abreu was hit with the first pitch dealt by reliever Trey Haley. After the inning Abreu and Haley got into a confrontation that cleared both benches and emptied the bullpen. The first pitch of the bottom of the seventh inning from Jason Gurka was deemed to be too far inside and he was tossed quickly. Keys manager was also ejected arguing Gurka's dismissal.

The Keys continue its final road trip of the 2011 regular season Friday, September 2nd at 6:30 p.m. with LHP Jake Pettit on the hill. It will be the final regular season home game in Kinston Indians history. Coverage will begin 20-minutes prior to first pitch on 1450-AM The Source and wthu.org.
