Lynchburg Hillcats News Release

Lynchburg, VA- Andrelton Simmons and Joey Terdoslavich were named to the Carolina League year-end All-Star team, it was announced by the Carolina League on Thursday. Players were voted to the team by managers, general managers and the media.

Simmons was voted in as the shortstop for the Carolina League. He currently leads the circuit in hitting, with a .304 batting average and has the most hits with 151. He also has the second most doubles, with 33, only behind his teammate, Terdoslavich. In addition to his hitting, Simmons has impressed many around the league with his range and arm at shortstop. This is the second straight year that Simmons has won a year-end award, as he was named to the Appalachian League Postseason All-Star team in 2010.

Terdoslavich was selected as the first baseman for the honorary team. Terdoslavich is currently in the top five in eight different offensive categories, including batting average, home runs, RBI, hits, doubles, slugging percentage and extra-base hits. He has hit 50 doubles, which in addition to being 17 more than any other player in the Carolina League and the most in all of Minor League baseball, is just one away from tying the single-season Carolina League record. He also is third in batting average, hitting .283 with 18 home runs, good for fourth in the Carolina League.

Both players were also chosen for the Carolina League Midseason All-Star team back in June, and represented the league in the California/Carolina League All-Star Game in Modesto, California.
