(Rapid City, SD) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Danny Battochio has been named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the term ending January 30th. The second-year netminder won three games, helping the Rush win five games in six nights.

"It is great to see Danny get recognized as Goaltender of the Week, said Rush Head Coach Joe Ferras. "He has been the backbone of our franchise and is playing some of his best hockey at the perfect time. Danny gives us a chance to win every night and is very deserving of this award."

Appearing in his third game in as many days, the reigning rookie of the year made 20 saves against the league-leading Allen Americans.

For Battochio, this is his third career league honor, having earned Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week honors on January 18, 2010 and Goaltender of the Month for January 2010.

On the year, Battochio is 17-15-4 with a 2.89 goals against average and .901 save percentage.
