NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - It may have been an icy cold night back home in North Richland Hills, but the sticks of the Brahmas remained hot in Odessa as they defeated the Jackalopes 4-1.

Texas was outshot 21-6 in the first period, but a solid goaltender between the pipes for the Brahmas and a pair of goals set the tone for the remainder of the contest. Chad Woollard began the scoring affair when he hammered a puck past Michel Robinson inside the crease. Alex Curran doubled the score :27 seconds later when the puck found his blade from a deflection of an Odessa defenseman ‚¬â„¢s stick.

A second period highlighted by two powerplay goals by the purple and black was just the confidence booster for the special teams unit. Scoring came from Mick Lawrence at the 6:49 mark and Woollard, his second of the game.
