MOLINE, Ill. (February 1, 2011) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced they have traded goaltender Jerad Kaufmann to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in exchange for future considerations.

Kaufmann, 26, won each of his two starts with the Mallards this season and posted a 3.01 goals against average and a .908 save percentage while securing those two victories. The Roseville, Minnesota, native was placed on injured reserve earlier this month due to a lower body injury.

Kaufmann returned to the Quad Cities in December after going 16-16-4 with a 2.99 goals against average and a .917 save percentage in 38 games with the Mallards as a rookie last season. He started this season in Scotland with the Dundee Stars of the Elite Ice Hockey League.

Kaufmann turned pro after going 45-38-14 with a 2.84 goals against average, a .898 save percentage and four shutouts over the course of a standout four-year career at Nebraska-Omaha.
