
Dancing Parrots, Fireworks and Giveaways Await this Weekend in Curve, Pa.

CURVE, Pa. - There will be dancing parrots, things that go boom and giveaways during the upcoming four-game homestand at Blair County Ballpark as the Curve return home on Thursday, May 12th for a quick series with the Erie SeaWolves, Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. Altoona will be home through Sunday, May 15th before taking back to the road life.
A Thirsty Thursday presented by Rocky 104.9 jump starts the homestand on Thursday, May 12th as the 'Wolves come to town for their second visit of the 2011 season. 16 oz. Miller Lite drafts will be on special for $2 during the 6:30 p.m. game with Erie and 22 oz. sodas will also be on special for $1.50 throughout the night.
Everyone's favorite day of the week rolls around for the second game of the series and it will be a Freebie Friday in Curve, Pa. with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch. The first 1,000 fans ages 14 & under will receive a Tenacious C Growth Chart Giveaway courtesy of WTAJ as they come through the gates to Friday night's duel. Friday night will also serve as the second FREE game of the season for members of the Galliker's Kids' Club. Kids age 12 and under can still be signed up for the Galliker's Kids' Club by visiting AltoonaCurve.com or by stopping by the Curve offices at Blair County Ballpark.
All kids can run the bases after the game on Friday with the SeaWolves as well. In addition, Friday night also serves as the first FRITOS(r) Family Friday of the season at BCB. Fans can have the opportunity to throw out a first pitch and possibly be a co-radio broadcaster during Friday night's game thanks to FRITOS(r) corn chips.
A Saturday in Curve, Pa. will bring things that go boom to BCB as a postgame fireworks show will take place after the 5:30 p.m. game with Erie. It is also the first Saturday of the month, which means it's a Community Collection Day at BCB and fans are asked to bring in tools and hardware supplies to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Blair County. All kids will once again be able to circle the bases at the conclusion of the evening.
Sunday afternoon's 2 p.m. game will bring the homestand to a close but it won't be without excitement and fun as the Pirate Parrot flocks to Blair County Ballpark for the first time since 2009 for the mid-afternoon game. The Parrot will be around to perform skits with Steamer, Al Tuna, Diesel Dawg and Tenacious C throughout the game. After watching all the gut-busting skits, all kids can run the bases after the game.
The second Youth Baseball Clinic of the season will take place before Sunday afternoon's game with Erie. Children ages 14 & under can receive instruction from Curve players and coaches from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for FREE with the purchase of a ticket to Sunday afternoon's game. Registration for the camp will begin at 9 a.m.

Kids age 12 and under can still be signed up for the FREE Galliker's Kids Club by registering online at AltoonaCurve.com, visiting the ballpark offices during business hours, or on any game day at the ballpark.
* FRITOS(r) Family Friday - Select fans will have an opportunity to throw out a first pitch and even be a co-radio broadcaster during the game. * Youth Baseball Clinic - The second baseball clinic of the season will take place from 10 a.m. to noon before the game on Sunday. The clinic is free for children ages 14 & under who purchase a ticket to Sunday afternoon's game with Erie. Registration will begin at 9 a.m.
