Today, the SeaWolves are looking to extend their winning streak to a season-best five games as they go for a three-game sweep in the final game of a three-game series against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the SeaWolves built an early lead for the second straight game and held on for the three-run win. The win puts the SeaWolves record at .500 at 15-15. The win also gives the SeaWolves back-to-back series wins for the first time in 2011. The 'Wolves are tied for second place with Bowie in the Western Division, a half game behind first place Harrisburg. The entire EL West is separated by just 2.5 games. As a comparison, the Eastern Division is separated by seven games from the top to the bottom...Lefty Casey Crosby makes his sixth start of the season and first against Akron. Today marks Crosby's first start not against Bowie or Altoona. Crosby took a no-decision in his last start against Bowie on May 6. In the game, the lefty allowed five runs on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts in five innings of work. Erie lost the game 12-6, dropping to 1-4 in games started by Crosby...Lefty Kelvin De La Cruz takes the mound for the Aeros making his seventh appearance and sixth start of the season. He appeared in relief in his last appearance, tossing a scoreless inning with three walks and three strikeouts against Trenton. His last start came on April 29 at Binghamton. He allowed a run on two hits with six walks and five strikeouts in four innings of work.
- Erie leads the season series over Akron 2-0. Akron won the 2010 season series over Erie 14-8.
