Dan Focht joins Bulldogs

The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today they have signed defenceman Dan Focht to a contract.

Focht, a 26-year-old native of Regina, Saskatchewan, played in 52 games with the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins last season, tallying five points (2-3-5) and adding 105 penalty minutes. Focht, a 6'6, 240 pound defenceman, has played in 82 career NHL games (with Phoenix and Pittsburgh) and has posted eight points (2-6-8) and 145 penalty minutes. Bulldogs assistant Ron Wilson coached Focht when the defenceman played for the AHL's Springfield Falcons from 1996-2000.

The Phoenix Coyotes selected Focht in the first round, 11th overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Focht will wear Hamilton Bulldogs jersey number 44.

The Hamilton Bulldogs next action will take place on Friday, October 29th at 7:30 p.m. when they host the Philadelphia Phantoms at Copps Coliseum.
