DESPERADOS & RUSH

Season Series: The Desperados and Rush have met five
times, including a quarterfinal playoff game in 2002. Dallas
has won two of the last three meetings.

Series Notables:
* Sunday's game marks the first time the two clubs have
opened the season against each other.
* Sunday is the second time these sqauds have played in
Dallas - first time Dallas won 60-54 on April 20, 2003.
* The Rush defeated the Desperados 60-47 in a quarterfinal
playoff game in Chicago on Aug. 5, 2002.
* Dallas has not faced another AFL team more than the fivetimes
they have faced Chicago.
* Two of Dallas's four all-time overtime games have been
against Chicago.

A Desperados Win Would:
* Allow Dallas to tie the series at 3-3.
* Give Dallas a 2-0 advantage over the Rush when playing
in Dallas.
* Improve Dallas's season opening mark to 3-1
* Give Dallas a 2-1 record when opening at home.
* Mark Dallas's first victory at the American Airlines Center
since defeating the San Jose SaberCats 58-54 on April
10, 2004.
* Snap Dallas's seven-game losing streak, dating back to
April 18, 2004.

THIS WEEK

The Desperados kick off their fourth indoor season by
hosting the Chicago Rush Sunday afternoon at the
American Airlines Center.

NEXT WEEK

Following this week's game, the Desperados hit the road
and take on the New York Gladiators on Super Bowl
Sunday, Feb. 6. The Rush open their home schedule
with an afternoon game against the Philadelphia Soul on
Sunday.

Will McClay (6-10 - 2nd Year)

Will McClay begins his second year as the Desperados

Head Coach. He was promoted to lead the team three days
before kicking off the 2004 AFL season following the resignation
of Joe Avezzano. He will also serve as the team's defensive
coordinator, a position he has held since the teams inaugural
season in 2002. In the AFL offseason, McClay works in
the Dallas Cowboys Player Personnel Department. Prior to
moving to Dallas, he was the Assistant Director of Pro
Scouting with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2001) and Player
Personnel Director of the XFL's Orlando Rage (2001). He was
the Grand Rapids Rampage Defensive Coordinator/Director of
Player Personell (1998-99) after serving in the same capacity
for the Anaheim Piranhas (1997). He served as the Defensive
Coordinator for the Florida Bobcats (1996) and the Milwaukee
Mustangs (1995) after beginning his coaching career with the
Detroit Drive (1993). He was a WR/DB with Detroit from 1989-
92, helping them win three ArenaBowl championships.

HEAD COACHES

Mike Hohensee (35-25, 3-4 playoffs - 5th Year in Chi.

79-69, 6-8 playoffs - 12th Year overall)

Mike Hohensee returns to the Rush sidelines for his fifth season
as the team's Head Coach and his 12th season as an AFL
head coach. He became the sixth coach in league history to
record 60 regular season wins when the Rush defeated Dallas 58-
52 in an overtime game July 13, 2002. He was hired as the first
head coach for the Rush on Sept. 26, 2000. Prior to arriving in
Chicago, Hohensee spent two seasons as Head Coach and
Director of Player Personnel for the AFL's New England Sea
Wolves (1999-00) and Head Coach for the Anaheim Piranhas
(1997), the Albany Firebirds (1994-96) and the Washington
Commandos (1990). He began his coaching career as an assistant
for the Chicago Bruisers in 1989 before becoming the
youngest coach in AFL history for the Commandos. He played for
the Washington Federals (USFL), Ottawa Rough Riders (CFL),
the Toronto Argonauts (CFL)and the AFL's Pittsburgh Gladiators
(1997-98). He also saw action with the Chicago Bears in 1987.
