Soul finalize 2005 roster

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League announced their 24-man roster today in preparation for the start of the 2005 season. The Soul kickoff the 2005 season this Sunday, January 30 when they visit the Austin Wranglers. Highlighting Philadelphia's final roster are offseason additions Tony Graziani (quarterback) and Steve Smith (offensive specialist) along with Philadelphia natives Sean Scott (wide receiver/linebacker) and Keita Crespina (wide receiver/defensive back). Former University of Pennsylvania standout receiver Rob Milanese also made the active roster after attending a local tryout.

The Soul concluded training camp over the weekend, cutting the active roster down from 37 players to 24. The team also placed Chris "Soul Train" Ryan (finger) and Tyronne Jones (hamstring) on Injured Reserve.

The roster breakdown by position follows: Kicker (1) – Derek Schorejs; Quarterbacks (2) – Tony Graziani and Tim Levcik*; Offensive Specialist (1) – Steve Smith; Fullbacks/Linebackers (4); Arnold Miller, Wes Ours, Marlion Jackson* and Marvin Brown; Wide Receivers/Defensive Backs (4) – Maurice Bryant, Rob Milanese, Keita Crespina* and Arkee Thompson; Wide Receivers/Linebackers (3) – Sean Scott*, Terrill Shaw* and Marcus Knight; Defensive Specialists (2) – Joseph Todd* and Eddie Moten; Offensive/Defensive linemen (7) – Eric Gohlstin*, Dan Koons, Donovan Arp*, Cyron Brown*, Konrad Dean, Winfield Garnett* and Dwayne Missouri* (* - returning players from 2004).

The Soul will have a four-player practice squad which will be announced later this week.

The first of eight home games will be held Sunday, February 13 at 3 p.m. in the Wachovia Center, when the Soul host the expansion Nashville Kats (NBC).
