Philadelphia Soul News Release
PHILADELPHIA (Friday, November 14, 2008) - In preparation for the start of their sixth season, the Philadelphia Soul are launching a new website dedicated exclusively to their dance team, the Philadelphia Soulmates.
The Soulmates are one of the most high-caliber, professional dance teams in the Arena Football League as well as in the Philadelphia area. Not only do they entertain on the field, but are actively involved off the field, making appearances at community and charity events throughout the year.
The new website, www.philadelphiasoulmates.com, will give fans a view into the world of a professional dance team. The site features Soulmate news, info and multimedia, as well as the debut of the new Soulmate Blog. Four "Blogmates," comprised of two rookies and two vets from last year, will be blogging regularly about their personal experiences, from the tryout process, open-call and Soulmate boot camp, all the way up through team practices and the start of a new season.
"We really wanted the site to be a resource for the Soul fans," says the Soul's Community Relations and Marketing Director Heather Poole. "Through the photos, videos and blog, fans get the opportunity to see more than what they typically would in a two minute game performance. It's a great way for the Soulmates to continue to showcase their talent."
The website will be maintained with the help of Soul Strategic Advisory Board member Matt Sinibaldi. The SSAB is a panel founded in September of 2007 with the mission of further developing fan support and involvement for the Soul. Comprised of members from the fan base and Philadelphia community, the SSAB is an active participant within the Soul organization.
The Soul celebrated their fifth anniversary season in 2008 with a 59-56 win over the San Jose SaberCats in the Virgin Mobile ArenaBowl XXII. The Soul drew a total of 131,817 fans last season, their largest number since the inaugural 2004 season, averaging 16,477 fans a game. Season tickets for the 2009 campaign are currently on sale starting at just $59. Call 215-636-0421 ext 3 to order your tickets and get more information on the defending ArenaBowl Champion Philadelphia Soul.
