D.C. United Midfielder Felipe Martins to Undergo ACL Reconstruction Surgery

D.C. United News Release
Washington, DC - D.C. United midfielder Felipe Martins will undergo anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery on Friday, Sept. 4 after tearing his ACL in his right knee at training on Sept. 1. Team physician Dr. Chris Annunziata of OrthoVirginia will perform the surgery. Felipe is expected to be sidelined for up to nine months as he rehabilitates from the injury and will be placed on the Season-Ending Injury List.
