Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

About Sunday in Toledo: Jason Lepine netted a pair of goals and Zach Torquato added three assists as the Walleye picked up a 4-2 victory over the Cyclones at Huntington Center. Chase Watson and Chris Clackson each scored for Cincinnati.

About Saturday Night vs. Kalamazoo: The Cyclones used some great third period defense and a two-point night from Dustin Sproat, Chris Clackson, and Brady Calla to knock off the Wings by a 4-3 score in front of 6,034 at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday night.

About Last Friday Night in Kalamazoo: The Wings scored a pair of goals in both the first and second periods en route to a 4-2 victory over the Cyclones at Wings Stadium. It was just the second time in the season series that the final score was decided by more than a goal. Benn Olson fought three times while Jon Higgins and Barret Ehgoetz scored for Cincinnati in a losing effort.

STORYLINES:

2011 CYCLONES CLASSIC: Inspired by the NHL Winter Classic, the Inaugural Cyclones Classic at Fountain Square is an all-day youth pond hockey tournament THIS SATURDAY. In addition to the tourney, Head Coach Jarrod Skalde will lead a hockey skills clinic followed by an exhibition game featuring members of the reigning Kelly Cup Champions. All of the day's activities begin at Noon, while the Cyclones will take the ice at 7:00pm. Visit CyclonesHockey.com for a more detailed list of events.

WE MEET AGAIN: After enjoying the four-day All-Star Break, Cincinnati returns to the ice at U.S. Bank Arena this Friday night as they welcome in the South Carolina Stingrays for the opener of three consecutive meetings. The two teams last met in early April during the American Conference Quarterfinals when Cincinnati knocked off the Stingrays three games to two. Over the last five years, the Cyclones own a 10-6-2 record, including a 5-3-0 mark in the Queen City.

NEXT LEVEL TALENT: Of all the players on the 2009-10 Cyclones playoff roster, 11 of them appeared in at least one game in the American Hockey League last season. Already this season, Jarrod Skalde's team has already surpassed those numbers - sending 12 to the "Triple-A" level.
