Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Extend Winning Streak in Front of Record Crowd on Pink in the Rink Night

The South Carolina Stingrays celebrated their fifth annual Pink in the Rink night this week and moved within four points of first place in the South Division with a week record of 3-0-0-0. The Stingrays traveled to The Arena at Gwinnett Center to battle the Gwinnett Gladiators Monday afternoon. Defenseman Josh Godfrey registered three points (1g, 2a) as the Stingrays edged the Gladiators 6-5 in the shootout. The Rays headed to the Bi-Lo Center Friday to take on their in-state rival, the Greenville Road Warriors. After erasing three one-goal deficits, the Rays lit the lamp twice in the third period to claim a 5-3 victory. The Battle of the Palmetto State moved to the North Charleston Coliseum Saturday for the Stingrays ‚¬â„¢ fifth annual Pink in the Rink night presented by East Cooper Medicial Center and benefiting Susan G. Komen-Lowcountry. Forward Nikita Kashirsky found the twine twice and added an assist as the Stingrays toppled the Road Warriors 5-1 in front of a Pink in the Rink record crowd of 8,364.

Forward Rob Ricci ranks 16 in the league with 37 points (18g, 19a) and fourth with three shorthanded goals, three shootout goals and four shorthanded points (3g, 1a).

Forward Matt Scherer is tied for second in the league with four game-winning goals.

Forward Pierre-Luc O ‚¬â„¢Brien is third in the ECHL with three shorthanded goals and four shorthanded points (3g, 1a).

Goaltender Todd Ford ranks 11 with a 2.69 goals-against average and netminder Jared DeMichiel sits fifth with a 2.47 GAA and third with a .920 save percentage.

Forward David de Kastrozza is 12 among ECHL rookies with 26 points (15g, 11a).

Defenseman Josh Godfrey stands 12 among ECHL defensemen with 20 points (12g, 8a) and first among league blueliners with 12 goals, eight power play markers and 114 shots.
