The 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM and brought to you by Mercy & Memorial Hospitals will be hosted by the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena and played on Jan. 26. This year ¬â¢s format features the host team Condors taking on the ECHL All-Star Team.
Kevin Bartl of the host Bakersfield Condors will be the play-by-play announcer while veteran NHL analyst Neil Smith will provide color commentary for the tenth year in a row and Adrian Denny of the Utah Grizzlies will work at ice level interviewing players, coaches and representatives from the ECHL and the National Hockey League.
Kevin Connolly, star of the hit HBO series ¬ÅEntourage ¬Â, will be in attendance at the All-Star Classic. Connolly, best known for his six-year stint in the role of ¬ÅE ¬Â on the show, will appear at the All-Star Game and Skills Competition. He will be raffling off prizes including a chance to visit the ¬ÅEntourage ¬Â set and autographed memorabilia. Connolly will also engage in a shootout competition on the ice during the second intermission with Bakersfield native and Texas Rangers World Series pitcher Colby Lewis to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Long Island, NY, native grew up as a hockey fan and famously attended the NHL Draft in Los Angeles last summer, going on stage with New York Islanders front office personnel and even announcing one of the Islanders first round draft picks. All fans in attendance at the All-Star Game can enter to win a chance to meet-and-greet with the actor at the game. Sign up tables will be positioned on the concourse with a drawing during the game.
Nine coaches from the ECHL All-Star Game have gone on to coach in the National Hockey League while 53 players from the contest have gone on to play in the NHL, including 37 since 2002 when the lineups began having players who coaches felt were prospects to move up to a higher level.
The fourth class will be inducted into the ECHL Hall of Fame on Jan. 26, 2011 during a luncheon ceremony presented by BFL Canada and the Bakersfield Convention & Visitors Bureau at the Marriott Bakersfield Hotel, the official host hotel of the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic. Three-time National Hockey League All-Star, and current Toronto Maple Leafs Vice President of Hockey Operations Dave Poulin, will serve as the keynote speaker at the luncheon.

The past eight ECHL All-Star Games have generated more than $1 million each for the local economy as guests, players, coaches and fans occupy hundreds of hotel rooms and spend three days in the host city.
The game has been available live on the NHL Network the last eight years as well as being broadcast on multiple regional networks. The audio broadcast will be carried on XM Satellite Radio as well as being available on 970 AM Fox Sports Radio in Bakersfield, Calif., 1350 KTIK The Ticket in Boise, Idaho, KJQS-AM 1230 in Salt Lake City and Fox Sports Radio 1230-WCWA in Toledo, Ohio.
