Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
THIS PAST WEEK:
About Saturday Night in Greenville: Rob Kwiet and Kyle Haines each had two goals apiece to lift the Road Warriors to a 5-3 win over the Cyclones in front of 2,582 at BI-LO Center. The loss was Cincinnati's first in regulation this season and snapped the four-game winning streak.
About Friday Night in Greenville: Behind Josh Shalla's second period goal and some tremendous penalty killing, the Cyclones earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Road Warriors in front of 2,983 at BI-LO Center. It was Cincinnati's fourth-straight win and kept them atop the ECHL in winning percentage.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
A Busy Week Ahead: After splitting a two-game series in Greenville this past weekend, the Cyclones will play three games in four days beginning Tuesday night at U.S. Bank Arena. They'll host the South Carolina Stingrays tomorrow morning for the 2012 Education in Hockey Day, followed by a Thursday night meeting with Evansville before hosting the Reading Royals on Military Appreciation Night this Friday.
Nothing But Nail Biters: Of the Cyclones 10 games played coming into the week, 8 of them have been decided by a single tally. The Clones are 6-0-2 in such situations. In fact, all 10 Cincinnati's contests have been decided by two goals or less.
Hazen's Heating Up: Second-year pro Jonathan Hazen is off to a solid start to the season. He has registered six points (4 goals, 2 assists) in as many games and ranks second on the Cyclones in scoring coming into the week.
Coors Light Jarrod Skalde Show TONIGHT: Join Head Coach Jarrod Skalde and Voice of the Cyclones Nick Brunker at Tap House Grill in Kenwood from 7-8pm as they chat about their road trip to Greenville and look ahead to a three-game week. In addition, Cyclones Assistant Coach Matt Macdonald will be on hand to answer questions, take pictures, and sign autographs!
