Reign Bolster Roster with Starenky

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, announced that defenseman David Starenky has signed with the team.

Starenky, 27, signed with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye for the 2012-13 season; where he played one game before coming to the Reign. During the 2011-12 season the defenseman skated with former CHL club, the Fort Wayne Komets - now an ECHL organization. In 49 games he recorded 7 points (1g, 6a) and 137 penalty minutes and two assists in six post-season appearances. Starenky won the 2011-12 CHL President's Cup Championship with the Komets, beating Wichita four games to one in the playoff finals.

From 2009-11, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound blueliner played in the Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey (LNAH) with the St. Georges CRS Express recording 12 assists and 402 penalty minutes in 70 games. He made his professional debut in the CHL with the Wichita Thunder for 16 games, he posted 57 penalty minutes.

Starenky played at the junior level for four seasons between the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League), QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League), and MJAHL (Maritime Junior A Hockey League). He played a total of 196 games and earned 46 points (5g, 41a) and 745 penalty minutes.
