Cyclones Take out Toledo, 4-1

Cincinnati, OH -- The Cincinnati Cyclones continue to be the Cinderella-team of the East Coast Hockey League's Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Cincinnati advances to the Northern Conference Finals against an opponent to be determined following their 4-1 win over the Toledo Storm in Game 4 of the best-of-five series on Wednesday at U.S. Bank Arena.

The teams exchanged goals in the first period. Cincinnati's Aaron Brand connected on a 2-on-1 break at 7:44 to give the Cyclones a 1-0 lead. Toledo would answer at 17:43 of the frame when Tim Verbeek knocked in a rebound to even the game at 1-1.

Cincinnati jumped to a 2-goal edge with an outburst late in the second period and seized control of the game from that point forward.

Jason Norrie collected his second goal of the playoffs with a power-play tally at 16:46. Just 34 seconds later, Cincinnati's Matt Noga connected on a perfect passing play to extend the advantage to 3-1.

In the third, Steve Gallace added a goal at 7:42 for the final margin of 4-1..

Toledo started Brian Finley in goal in his first action of the post-season. The former first round draft selection of the Nashville Predators had been on the 7-Day Injured Reserve List. Doug Teskey, who had started each playoff game to date, appeared to be suffering from a injury to his right leg.
