Green Jerseys Raise $12,600 For Charity

Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades held their annual end of the season charity jersey auction on Tuesday night at the Breakaway Sports Pub inside TECO Arena. The Everblades raised $12,600 during the auction. Net proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Group and to the Deb Kelsey Memorial Scholarship. Kelsey was a former Everblades season ticket holder and heavily involved with the Jr. Everblades travel hockey program. Everblades former captain Tom Buckley's jersey fetched the highest price at $850. The green third jerseys were auctioned off at the annual event. It was the last time Everblades fans could purchase the jerseys with the ECHL patches on them since the league has announced plans to change the name of the league after adding teams from the WCHL next season. The entire list of jerseys sold and their amounts are listed below.
Since their inception, the Everblades have donated over $200,000 to local charities through several community outreach programs including the jersey auctions, celebrity dinners and golf outings. This past season, the Everblades reached several thousand local students through their educational assemblies and reading programs. The Everblades are committed to "Sticking with the Community" in SW Florida. All of these community accomplishments are a result of a dedicated group of owners, players, front office staff, and the generous contributions of the team's sponsors and fans.
