Cyclones Partner with Cincinnati Police Department for 2011 Teddy Bear Toss
December 5, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced that they will hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss this Saturday, December 10 at U.S. Bank Arena. This year's collection of bears will benefit the Cincinnati Police Department.
This year's event will coincide with Throwback Night, which will feature $8 tickets, $1 John Morrell Hot Dogs, Donatos Pizza, Soda, and Beer. When the Cyclones score their first goal, fans will be encouraged to throw a new or gently loved teddy bear onto the ice, which will then be collected and donated to the Cincinnati Police Department.
"This Teddy Bear Toss is another example of the Cyclones' impressive community involvement," said Police Chief James E. Craig. "The soft toys provided by fans will help officers engage and comfort children who have been victims of crimes, accidents or fires, and this small gift at a time of stress is a gesture of caring and love when it is most needed. The Police Department appreciates partners like the Cincinnati Cyclones who assist us in enhancing the delivery of police services to the community."
"We are very fortunate to work with such a dedicated, committed police department here in Cincinnati," said Cyclones General Manager Kristin Ropp. "They provide such a high level of service to our community, and I'm very pleased we are able to partner with them for one of our signature promotions."
The Cyclones will kick off a home-and-home series with the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center this Friday night at 7:00pm. Fans can hear all the action of the game on the Cyclones Radio Network (1050-AM, America One) beginning at 6:45pm. Fans can also get the latest team updates throughout the season on Facebook and Twitter (@CincyCyclones).
