
Cyclones Announce Opening Day Roster

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones have announced the opening day roster for the 2015-16 season. This year's opening roster will consist of 11 forwards, seven defensemen, and three goaltenders.
2015-2016 Cyclones Opening Day Roster:
Forwards (11)- Zach Budish, Jack Downing, Branden Gracel, Nick Huard, Christiaan Minella, Garrick Perry, Peter Quenneville, Jaynen Rissling, Eric Robinson, Joe Wilson, Andrew Yogan
Defenseman (7)- Cody Carlson, Kevin Lind, Ryan Misiak, Mike Ratchuk, Ben Schmidt, Steven Weinstein, Riley Weselowski
Goaltenders (3)- Neil Conway, Brad Thiessen, Brandon Whitney
Additionally, forward Mike Hammond and defenseman Brett Wysopal have been placed on the 21-day injured reserved list to start the season. ECHL teams can have an unlimited number of players on the 21-day injured reserve, and once placed on the injured reserve, the Player must remain on the IR for a minimum of 21 days.
Roster Notes:
- There are eight rookies on the Opening Day roster- Hammond (IR), Huard, Misiak, Perry, Quenneville, Schmidt, Weinstein, Wilson (A rookie is any player who has played less than 25 regular season games of professional hockey.)
- The Opening Day roster consists of three veterans- Downing, Ratchuk, Weselowski ( A veteran is defined as a player, other than a goaltender, who has played in at least 260 regular season games of professional hockey.)
- Nine players saw time with the Cyclones last season- Budish, Downing, Gracel, Huard, Minella, Perry, Rissling, Wysopal (IR), Yogan
- Five players have been assigned by AHL teams (Rissling, Robinson and Whitney- Milwaukee; Quenneville and Thiessen- Lake Erie)
The Cyclones open up the 2015-2016 season this Saturday, October 17, at U.S. Bank Arena against the Toledo Walleye. Faceoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
