
Mallards Acquire Wilson

MOLINE, Ill. (October 15, 2015) - The Quad City Mallards have acquired the rights to forward Cole Wilson from the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for future considerations, the Mallards announced today.
Wilson, 25, scored 13 goals and added eight assists for 21 points in 28 games at the University of British Columbia last season. The 6' 2", 210-pound White Rock, British Columbia, native was named a 2013-14 Second Team Canada West Universities Athletic Association All-Star after finishing tied for fifth in all of Canadian university hockey and tied for second in the CWUAA in goals (18) and finishing tied for fourth in the conference in points (35). Wilson led the CWUAA and finished tied for ninth in the nation in goals (16) in 2012-13. He totaled 49 goals, 37 assists and 86 points in 91 career games as a Thunderbird.
Wilson played four seasons in the junior ranks for the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Camrose Kodiaks, the British Columbia Hockey League's Westside Warriors and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Flin Flon Bombers before arriving at UBC. He capped off his junior career by helping Camrose to the 2011 AJHL finals and competing with the host Kodiaks in the 2011 Royal Bank Cup, Canada's national Junior A championship.
The Mallards will begin their nineteenth season- and their second in the ECHL- on the road against the defending champion Allen Americans tomorrow night and will visit the Wichita Thunder Saturday evening before returning to the Quad Cities to play their home opener on Friday, October 23 at 7:05 p.m. against the Tulsa Oilers. The home opener will also bring a postgame fireworks show outside the iWireless Center and return of $1 Dog/$1 Beer Friday presented by 97X. In addition, Every Friday game will also be a MetroLINK College Night this season. The Mallards have once again partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games. As part of Metro's unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.
Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season home games- including the home opener- are on sale now at the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available for $10, $16, $20 and $28.
