
Kalamazoo Wings Announce Season-Opening Roster

KALAMAZOO, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings have set their opening-night roster and named their team captains in preparation for tomorrow's opening night of the 2015-16 season against the Fort Wayne Komets, the team announced Thursday.
The team has 21 players on its opening night roster, which features 19 skaters and two goalies. Twelve forwards and seven defensemen make up the skaters, and five players are entering their rookie seasons.
Tyler Shattock has been named as the team captain, while Eric Kattelus and Brett Ponich will wear the "A" as assistants.
Forwards: Tanner Sorenson (R), David Gilbert, Colin Murray, Kattelus, Shattock, Justin Kovacs (R), Alex Mallet, Lane Scheidl, Ludwig Blomstrand, Darren Archibald, Dane Fox, and Justin Taylor.
Defensemen: Steven Kaunisto, Steve McCarthy, Cory Pritz (R), Charlie Vasaturo (R), Ben Wilson, Adam Phillips, and Ponich.
Goaltenders: Ryan DeMelo (R), and Joel Martin.
The Kalamazoo Wings open their 42nd season of professional hockey against the Fort Wayne Komets with the 2015-16 home opener presented by Bell's Brewery on Friday, October 16 at 7:30 p.m. inside Wings Event Center. For the official 2015-16 K-Wings season schedule, visit kwings.com.
Single-game tickets are now on sale! Tickets can be purchased at kwings.com or at the Wings Event Center box office. Box office hours are Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
