Steelheads Announce Opening Day Roster
October 15, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (10/15/15) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced his opening day roster on Thursday, as well as several transactions made ahead of Wednesday's 3 PM deadline to finalize the roster.
The Steelheads announced the acquisition of defenseman Tommy Fallen from the Toledo Walleye for future considerations.
Idaho also traded defenseman Tim Billingsley to the Brampton Beast for future considerations and released goaltender Chris Rawlings from his ECHL contract.
Fallen, 24, finished a four year career at Yale University last spring where he was captain of the Bulldogs in his senior season. Fallen tallied 19 goals and 66 points on the blue line for Yale over 138 games, and was a member of the NCAA National Championship team in 2013. He played six games in the ECHL last spring with the Wheeling Nailers, registering an assist.
"Tommy is a very strong skater with excellent vision on the ice," said Graham. "He was a great captain for Yale last season and we're very excited to add him to our roster."
Billingsley is readying for his first pro season after four years at Carelton University. Rawlings played nine games for the Steelheads last season.
