
Cutters Top West Virginia 7-4 to Stay Unbeaten

The Williamsport Crosscutters won their fourth consecutive game to start the 2015 season 7-4 against the West Virginia Black Bears. The 4-0 start sets a new franchise best mark topping the 3-0 start back in 2010. The Cutters put the foot on the gas pedal in the third inning plating five runs on six hits including a two run home run from Jan Hernandez.
The Cutters would get six innings out of starter Mitch Gueller, who made his season debut at Susquehanna Bank Park at Historic Bowman Field. Gueller struck out four West Virginia batters while allowing three runs on the way to his first win. The Cutters would use four pitchers on the night with Kenny Koplove and Andrew Godail making their pro debuts in front of the home crowd. Jason Zgardowski picked up his second save of the season working a 1-2-3 ninth inning and striking out two batters.
Venn Biter finished the night 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Jose Pujols went 3 for 4 on the night with three singles and one RBI. Dylan Bosheers picked up his first career hit with a triple for the Cutters in the eighth inning.
