
Lukes Leads Scrappers to 11-2 Victory over Batavia

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers (3-2) got a 11-2 win over the Batavia Muckdogs (0-5) tonight at Dwyer Stadium in Bataiva.
Nathan Lukes was 4-for-5 with two doubles and 4 RBI's. He is second on the team in batting average behind Anthony Santander. Santander started the game 2-for-2 with two doubles before coming out of the game in the seventh inning. The Scrappers have scored 13 runs this year in the 7th inning, which is their most productive inning this season.
Both teams had four errors. Batavia has had at least 3 errors in all five games it has played in this year. Shao-Ching Chiang pitched six innings and only gave up one walk. Mahoning Valley pitching had allowed 21 walks in the first three games of the season. In the last two games, it has given up six walks. Jimmy Stokes came in tonight and pitched two innings without giving up a walk. He gave up six on Friday against West Virginia.
