Reading Fightin Phils News Release

(READING, PA) - The Eastern League has announced that Reading Fightin Phils outfielder Grenny Cumana has been added to the Eastern Division All-Star roster. Cumana has been added after former first overall draft pick Mickey Moniak was placed on the Injured List on Thursday with a hamstring strain.

Cumana, 23, batted .324 through his first 44 Double-A games, with one home run and 16 RBIs. In 145 at-bats with Reading, Cumana has struck out just 17 times. Primarily an infielder prior to last season, he has played all three outfield positions in 2019.

The 5'5" native of Barcelona, Venezuela, was signed by the Phillies as an international free agent on March 10, 2013.

Cumana joins Fightins first baseman Darick Hall and pitchers Adonis Medina and Addison Russ as Reading's All-Star representatives.

The Eastern League All-Star game begins at 7:05 p.m. at The Diamond in Richmond, VA, on Wednesday, July 10. Tickets for the event and more information on All-Star Week in Richmond are available at https://www.milb.com/Richmond/events/all-star.

America's Classic Ballpark is proud to be a part of Pennsylvania's Americana Region and was voted the #1 stadium in all of Double-A by MiLB's Ben Hill.
