Cullen Scores First Pro Goals in 4-3 Loss to Everblades

Estero, FL - Forward Patrick Cullen scored his first two goals as a professional, but the South Carolina Stingrays (35-25-4-3) fell to the Florida Everblades (35-25-2-5) 4-3 at Germain Arena Wednesday evening.

The Everblades took an early 2-0 in the first period behind goals from forwards Scott Pitt at 1:17 and Matt Marquardt at 3:52. Defenseman Ryan Donald and forward Brayden Irwin earned assists on Pitt's 21st goal of the season and forwards Cedric McNicoll and Rylan Galiardi added assists to Marquardt's tally.

The Stingrays jumped on the board at 7:47 when forward Billy Ryan banked a shot off an Everblades skate and past goaltender John Muse (W, 28 saves on 31 shots). Forward Michael Dorr and defenseman Johann Kroll recorded assists. Forward Patrick Cullen tied the contest moments later with his first professional goal at 12:04 from forward Trent Campbell and defenseman Phil Oreskovic.

Everblades defenseman Sebastien Piche made it 3-2 at 2:28 of the second period firing a shot through traffic and past Stingrays goaltender Billy Sauer (L, 20 saves on 24 shots). Defenseman Charles Landry and forward Matt Beca registered assists. Cullen tied the contest back up with his second goal of the night at 6:36 from forwards Pierre-Luc O'Brien and Dorr.

Galiardi buried the game-winning goal midway through the third period snapping a wrist shot over the glove of Sauer from the right-wing circle at 12:37. Donald grabbed the lone assist. The Stingrays ended the night 0-for-5 on the power play while the Everblades went 0-for-2.
