Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced on Wednesday that they have signed forward Corey Tamblyn to a standard player contract for the remainder of the 2011-2012 season.

Tamblyn, a native of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, scored his first professional goal on Saturday night, notching the eventual game winner in the third period of a 3-2 Jackals victory over the Florida Everblades at First Arena. The 23-year-old posted a +2 rating to go along with his goal in three games with Elmira this past weekend. He had initially signed with the Jackals under an amateur tryout agreement last Wednesday.

Prior to turning pro, Tamblyn skated four seasons at Clarkson University (NCAA, D-I), scoring 19 goals and adding 28 assists for 47 points in 130 games from 2008-2012.

Elmira heads to Toledo for contests on Friday and Saturday with the Walleye and then visits Wheeling on Sunday to take on the Nailers. The Jackals returns to First Arena for their final regular season home game on Friday, Mar. 30 at 7:35 p.m. against the Reading Royals.
