Forward Ethan Cox Returned to Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Ethan Cox has been returned to the Royals from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. In separate transactions previously undertaken, forward Tyler Brenner was placed on the 7-Day Injured Reserve and forward Dennis McCauley was transferred to the 21-Day Injured Reserve.

Cox was loaned to the Sound Tigers on March 15. He played three games with Bridgeport and registered one assist and two penalty minutes. It was his first AHL call-up of the season. He was acquired by the Royals in a trade with the Alaska Aces on March 8 and played two games for Reading, recording two penalty minutes, before being loaned to Bridgeport. In fifty-three games with the Aces, Cox had twenty-eight points (13g-15a) and fifty-three penalty minutes. Brenner sustained an injury early in Reading's 4-3 overtime victory on Saturday against the Wheeling Nailers. In twenty games with Reading, Brenner has nine points (3g-6a) and eighteen penalty minutes.

The Royals return to action on Friday (March 23, 2012 @ 4:05 pm) when the team will kick off a three game set against the Trenton Titans. On Friday, the Sovereign Center will host a happy hour at the 'The Corner' Bar and Restaurant from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Friday's game night broadcast will start at 3:35 pm with the Red Robin Gourmet Burger Pre-Game Warm-up Show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Reading.
