
Wranglers Snap Skid with 5-3 Win Over Eagles

Las Vegas - Putting an end to a three-game losing streak, the Las Vegas Wranglers won 5-3 over the Colorado Eagles tonight on pairs of goals early and late in the game.
Two goals in the span of 21 seconds gave the Wranglers an early 2-0 lead over the Eagles. Five minutes into the game, newly returned Wranglers center Eric Lampe tallied his 35th goal of the season, and at 5:21, right wing Ryan Weston scored to give Las Vegas the two-goal advantage. Colorado forward Liam Huculak put the Eagles on the board midway through the period, and a power play goal by Eagles forward Joey Sides tied the game 2-2 early into the second. With less than three minutes left in the period, Wranglers forward Adam Huxley sniped a shot in on Eagles goaltender Andrew Penner, giving Las Vegas the 3-2 lead after 40 minutes of play.
Colorado tied the game up 3-3 on a goal from Eagles defenseman Alex Penner midway through the third. Overtime loomed until Wranglers center Judd Blackwater netted a goal for a final Las Vegas lead with three minutes left in the game. A minute later, Wranglers forward Sean Wiles tacked on an insurance goal, giving the team a 5-3 over Colorado and snapping a three-game losing streak. Silver Skater Blackwater collected a goal and an assist in tonight's game, and Silver Skater Miller recorded two assists. Wranglers Golden Goalie Mitch O'Keefe stopped 25 of 28 shots faced.
The Wranglers take on the Idaho Steelheads on Friday, March 23, and Saturday, March 24, at 7:05 p.m. Saturday's game marks the return of Regrettable Tattoo Night, where fans with the worst tattoos can win tattoo removal and cover-up prizes. Tonight's full box score can be found here .
