AVON, Ohio - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, gave up an important unearned run for the second straight night and lost 4-3 in ten innings to the Lake Erie Crushers on Wednesday night at All Pro Freight Stadium.

The CornBelters used the hot bat of Pat McKenna to get on the board first as he drove a two-run homer inside the left field foul pole, his third long ball of the series and his league-leading ninth home run.

The Belters got another long ball with two outs in the sixth as T.J. Gavlik lined over the right field wall to increase the lead to 3-0.

The Crushers finally scored in the seventh when Russell Moldenhauer led off with a double and came home on a base hit by Daniel Bowman. A bases-loaded walk cut the margin to 3-2 going to the eighth inning. Lake Erie tied the game in an error-extended eighth inning with a two-out RBI single by Emmanuel Quiles.

After the CornBelters went down in order in the tenth, the Crushers loaded the bases with one out in their half of the first extra frame and walked off with the win on a base hit up the middle by Emmanuel Quiles.

Mitch Mormann (2-2) took the loss in relief while Mickey Jannis (1-0) earned the win.

The CornBelters conclude the road trip on Thursday in suburban Cleveland with a 6:05 p.m. Central first pitch against the Crushers.
