The Crushers, down 8-0 entering the bottom of the ninth, gave the fans something to cheer about as Kyle Shaffer led off with a double, and later scored on an errant throw to first by Windy City second baseman Michael Torres. That was all the Crushers were able to muster however, as Jason Taylor with two men on flew out to center to end the ballgame.
