BINGHAMTON, NY - Alexander Volkov and Dennis Yan each scored twice for the Syracuse Crunch in a 6-2 win over the Binghamton Devils at Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena on Wednesday night.

Syracuse took the lead 7:19 into the game as Alexander Volkov punched in a loose puck on the side of the crease. Players crashed the net as Matthew Peca was denied by Eddie Lack but the puck rolled right to Volkov who had a wide-open net for his 17th of the year from Cernak and Erik Cernak for the 1-0 lead.

Mitchell Stephens forced a turnover and found Dennis Yan on the side of the net for a two-goal lead. Stephens took the puck below the goal line and hit Yan who lifted puck by the right arm of Lack for his 12th of the year. The lone assist went to Stephens at 15:19 and the Crunch took a 2-0 lead into the intermission along with a 14-17 shot advantage.

Early in the second period, John Quenneville deflected in a Steven Santini shot from the right point to get the Devils on the board. The goal came 1:55 into the second and was Quenneville's 12th of the year from Santini and Colton White.

Yan scored his second of the night and 13th of the year after forcing a turnover to move the Crunch back out to a two-goal lead at 9:19. Yan pushed the puck by Brian Strait at the left point and skated in all alone down the right side and fired a shot over off the cross bar and in for the 3-1 advantage.

Syracuse moved out to a 4-1 lead with 6:40 left in the second period as Kevin Lynch put in his 10th of the year from Stephens and Daniel Walcott. The Crunch took a 4-1 lead into the third period with a 26-18 advantage in shots.

Quenneville scored his second goal of the night on the power play to pull the Devils back within two goals. Bracken Kearns fed Quenneville at the top of the crease and he sent a one timer over the right leg pad of Louis Domingue and the Crunch lead was decreased to 4-2. Assists were credited to Kearns and Christoph Bertschy at 0:41.

Syracuse added two more goals later in the third period for the four-goal win. Volkov cashed in on his second of the night and 18th of the year on the power play at 8:34 and Olivier Archambault recorded a power-play goal of his own for the 6-2 win. Lack stopped 27 in the loss while Domingue denied 28 of 30 in the victory.
