
Minnesota Wild Recalls Zack Mitchell and Ryan Murphy

DES MOINES, IOWA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Zack Mitchell and defenseman Ryan Murphy from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Mitchell, 25 (1/7/93), has tallied 28 points (14g, 14a) including four power-play goals and two game-winning tallies in 33 games with Iowa this season. Mitchell has collected five points (3g, 2a) including one game-winning goal in 21 games with Minnesota this season. He tallied his first career NHL point with an assist vs. Columbus on Oct. 14 and his first NHL goal against the New York Islanders on Oct. 26. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound native of Orangeville, Ont., owns five points in 32 career NHL games with Minnesota. He was signed by the Wild as a free agent on March 4, 2014.
Murphy, 24 (3/31/93), has allied 28 points (4g, 24a) in 48 contests with Iowa this season. Murphy leads team defensemen in assists and ranks second in scoring. He has recorded two points (1g, 1a), six penalty minutes (PIM), a plus-5 rating, 12 shots on goal and 11 blocked shots in nine games with Minnesota this season. He owns 39 points (7g, 32a) and 44 PIM in 160 career NHL games with Carolina (2012-17) and Minnesota. He was originally selected by Carolina in the first round (12th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and was signed as a free agent by the Wild on July 1, 2017.
Iowa battles Grand Rapids tonight at Van Andel Arena as a part of the team's four-game road trip. Puck drop is at 6:00 p.m. CT.
