Bindulis Joins Bears from South Carolina

(Hershey, PA)- The Hershey Bears announced a trio of roster moves today. The Bears have announced that defenseman Kris Bindulis has been re-assigned to Hershey from the club's ECHL affiliate, the South Carolina Stingrays. Additionally, the Bears have loaned defenders Paul Geiger and Tommy Hughes to South Carolina.

Bindulis, 22, has appeared in six games for Hershey, registering two penalty minutes. He made his AHL debut on Oct. 22 at Rockford. The native of Riga, Latvia has skated in 34 games with South Carolina this season, scoring 15 points (four goals, 11 assists). He has scored a pair of overtime goals this season for the Stingrays.

The 6-foot-2, 198-pound defender was signed to a three-year, entry-level deal by the Washington Capitals on Mar. 7, 2017. Last season, he recorded 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) in 28 collegiate games with Lake Superior State.

Hughes has skated in 10 games this season with the Bears, while Geiger posted an assist in five games with the Chocolate and White.

The Hershey Bears return home on Friday, March 16 against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for Scout Night. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. Ticket information is available at HersheyBears.com.
