Crunch Announce Roster Moves

Syracuse, NY (December 3, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled left wing Joakim Lindstrom and returned goaltender Tomas Popperle. In addition, goaltender Joel Martin has been released from his professional try-out contract.

Lindstrom, 23, has appeared in 22 games this season for Syracuse, tallying 11 goals, 13 assists and 24 penalty minutes. Lindstrom appeared in 9 games for Columbus last season, picking up 1 goal and 4 penalty minutes in 9 games. A native of Skelleftea, Sweden, Lindstrom was drafted by Columbus in the 2nd round, 41st overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Popperle, 23, has appeared in 14 games this season for Syracuse, going 5-8-0 while posting a 3.30 goals-against average and .889 save percentage. A native of Broumov, Czech Republic, Popperle was drafted by Columbus in the 5th round, 131st overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Martin, 25, has appeared in 11 games this season with Elmira, going 8-3-0 with a 2.80 goals-against average and .902 save percentage. A native of Forth Worth, Texas, Martin appeared in one game for the Crunch last season, going 1-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and .971 save percentage.

The Crunch's next game is Tuesday, December 4 as they travel to Chicago to take on the Wolves. The Crunch return home Saturday, December 15 to battle the Hamilton Bulldogs at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
