Montgomery Biscuits News Release
MONTGOMERY -- The Tampa Bay Rays have re-signed left-handed pitcher Jason Cromer as a free agent and sent him to Montgomery, where he pitched from 2004 until 2006.
Cromer played for Wichita (AA - Texas League) as a Kansas City Royals farmhand last season, where he was 3-8 with a 5.25 ERA. In his three seasons with the Biscuits, he is the Biscuits' all-time leader in wins (18), losses (23), games started (63), innings pitched (353.0), hits allowed (392), at-bats against (1374), total batters faced (1523), runs allowed (186), earned runs allowed (154), walks (113) and strikeouts (213). He will wear jersey no. 26.
To make room for Cromer on the roser, Tampa Bay has moved backup catcher Alex Jamieson to Hudson Valley (Short-A - New York-Penn League). Jamieson had been 0-for-1 with a strikeout.
